I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she was just sleepy. Still, that’s not good.

Pay attention to traffic lights, people! This is one of those things that really gets under my skin. This really isn't a hard concept! That being said, usually I will try to give someone the benefit of the doubt when this happens. This is usually the case if the left turn light goes green and they run the light because of it. But the only thing that turned there was the No Turn on Red sign. For their sake (and everyone else on the road) I hope it was just being tired, and not how they usually drive.

This is the second time I’ve seen someone drive towards a red light thinking it was green: http://oppositelock.kinja.com/well-i-just-go…

I actually saw a cop do something very similar (jumped a red light because he saw the turn lane went green and thought he could go

When he realized it was red he put his sirens on and went though it... then turned them off and cruised again.

Probably distracted while updating her Facebook.

Just curious... how do you know it was a woman driving? Is this a commuter you see regularly?

No, but when I pulled up next to her at the next light it was as evident as it could reasonably be.

I looked over at her when I got to the next light, expecting to see some sort of distraction, but nope. Either she had nothing on her to distract her or she learned her lesson and put whatever it was down right away.

Ah. I was just wondering since she looked really far away. Back when my commute was 45 miles one way, I tended to run into the same few people over and over again. There was one dude in a black Altima who was always a dick. Then there was the guy in an old ass Monte Carlo who would always just be cruising along looking like he didn’t have a trouble in the world. I’m pretty sure to them I was that one chick in the silver car who always passed them like a bat out of hell. :P

When I worked over the summer, I encountered the same green Saturn L-series every morning without fail, on the same stretch of road doing around 25 in a 45 and holding everyone up.
